This letter of reference is in regards to A Barlow, a fellow colleague from a former firm that we both worked for in the United States. I began my association with Mr. Barlow when he came on board as a Personal Security Officer to protect another of the Corporate Officers on staff with the firm. It was basically a position in which he was on call twenty-four hour a day, to provide security and support to his principal and also auxiliary and more random security for the child of the owner of the company.

Mr. Barlow’s tenure with what is now known as **********, owned and operated by one Dr. **** B*****, PhD, was by the nature of the services he provided for the Director of Research and Development, S******** R******l; one that required him to become acquainted with the very personal details of Dr. B***** and Ms. R******l’s lives. It was believed at the time he signed on that a predatory abuser who also abused her egregiously during her childhood was stalking Ms. R****** and that there was clear and present danger to her physical well being not to mention her emotional and mental status. Additionally, a threat was perceived as possible against Dr. B*****r and/or his child, as a way to get to Ms R****** through her benefactor, employer, friend and former lover, Dr B*****.

It was determined in November of 1999 that Mr. Barlow and his partner another Personal Security Officer, D***** B*******, from the United Kingdom would come over and serve Dr. B***** and the principal assignment of Ms. R****** by providing security on a sort of rotation spelling each other. The terms of the contract changed several times over the course of the three-month assignment. Sometimes the changes were written changes and at other times they were verbal gentlemen’s agreements between the parties concerned. For all intents and purposes though what occurred was that during Mr. Barlow’s assigned times protecting Ms. R****** he was required for the first month of service to be in her home or traveling with her as her security protection officer 24 hours a day. During the first month he had little to no down time.

Mr. Barlow always took brief furloughs. He conducted himself with professional attitudes and actions in all of my three-month association with him as a colleague. I was thoroughly impressed by his willingness to stick to the assignment, no matter the intense level of chaos caused by Ms. R******and her erratic behavior and antics, nor Dr. B*****’s as he vacillated between wanting relief from Ms R******l by placing Mr. Barlow in full charge of her safety needs and then back again as he sought to please her himself. All the while Mr. Barlow remained the consummate professional.

I cannot give enough accolades regarding Mr. Barlow, I had never been associated prior to this with a Personal Protection Officer, but the confidential matters, the forced intimacy with his principal , the long hours and his seemingly endless objectivity to the situation was one of the finest examples to professional demeanor I have ever seen in my twenty plus years as a banking executive.

To whom this may concern,

AB undertook security duties at Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships, including Player Protection.

During his time with us I found A to be hard working, diligent, punctual and professional.

I would have no hesitation in recommending A to another employer.
